University Tire and Auto Center Inc. is a locally owned and family operated business which traces its roots in Charlottesville back to the 1970s. University Firestone was founded in the early 1970s by Bobby Inscoe and his brother, Frank Inscoe. The company grew through the 1980s into fourteen locations before being sold and the brothers retiring. In 1995 a second generation of the family moved into the tire and automotive service industry opening our automotive service center in Seminole Square Shopping Center. Larry and Sherry Williams are carrying on the family tradition today and have opened their second location in Pantops Shopping Center. We now have two locations to better serve our customers, our new Pantops location located at 140 Newhouse Drive and our Seminole Square location located at 200 Seminole Court.

University Tire and Auto Center has the distinction of being voted Charlottesville's number ONE tire center for TWO consecutive years and the only independent service center that is both ASE certified and AAA approved repair facility in the area. We are a full automotive service center servicing both foreign and domestic vehicles. We carry all major tire brands and stock the largest tire inventory in the area. From tires, oil changes, factory scheduled maintenance, flushes, alignments, major repairs or a Virginia State Inspection we're your one stop facility. We are nationally affiliated with other independent tire and automotive service centers across the country and all our work carries a nationwide warranty.

University Tire and Auto Center maintain two state of the art facility's with the most update vehicle diagnostic's and service equipment available. We have twenty seven full time employees including two managers, two assistant managers, a fleet / wholesale director, four service writers, office/marketing director, eight automotive technicians, two alignment technicians, five tire technicians, and two shuttle drivers. Our employees are well trained with the most updated training available and their technical degrees are displayed proudly in our showrooms. University Tire and Auto Center takes training very seriously and we are constantly enrolling all our employees in the most advanced training classes available.

We offer complementary shuttle service to and from your local destination and loaner cars with a major service appointment. For our customers who would like to wait for their vehicle, we offer a television lounge area with a coffee station. For our business customers, we offer wireless internet along with work stations.

Owner Larry Williams attributes the company's success to the local family ownership and having concerns of their customers, employees and our community in which we live. We believe in being involved and giving back to our community is a responsibility of every business.
